Аннотация:The relationship of emotional and behavioral problems with tem-perament traits has been well researched. However the etiology of this relationship is not as clear. In our study weaimed to investigate the etiological nature of the co-occurrence of
internalizing and externalizing behavior problems with temperament traits by calculating the effects of genetic, shared environmental and unique environmental factors on their shared variance. We applied a standard bivariate twin study approach, our sampleconsisted of 372 twin pairs (164 MZ, 134 DZ and 74 opposite sex DZ). We found that the relationships between internalizing problems and many temperament traits was explained at least in part by geneticfactors. Genetic factors explained the relationship of internalizing problems with activation control (A=0.12), fear (A=0.24), frus-tration (A =0.64), inhibitory control (A=0.11). The same was true for total problems, but not externalizing problems. The relationshipbetween externalizing problems and inhibitory control was the only one to have a significant genetic component (A=0.79)
