Аннотация:The Langeron family archives were purchased in France from antique dealers in the 1920s ; they are now conserved in the Russian State Archives of social and political history. Among the documents of the fund there are memoirs of the second half of the eighteenth century composed by two brothers, the Marquis and Count Maulévrier-Langeron, occupying high military posts in Britain. The former drafted tax reforms, including the abolition of privileges. The second described the city of Roscoff and its population by trying to categorize it. Both brothers are aristocrats feeling responsible for the destiny of the kingdom and ready to play the role of advisers to the king and ministers.
