Аннотация:The cross sections evaluated for the (γ, 1n) and (γ, 2n) partial photoneutron reactions on197Au by means of objective physical criteria of data reliability are compared with the results of various experiments. It is shown that the evaluated data differ significantly from the results of experiments performed with the aid of the photoneutron multiplicity sorting method but agree with the results obtained by alternative methods. Both for the reactions 197Au(γ, 1n)196Au and 197Au(γ, 2n)195Au, the best agreement is reached with the results of activation experiments and modern experiments based on the technique of direct neutron multiplicity sorting by means of a flat-efficiency detector and performed in the beam of gamma rays originating fromthe Compton backscattering of laser photons on relativistic electrons.
