- Аннотация: The key concept of professor Galina Kitaygorodskaya’s method “Activation of Individual and Group Potential” (Activation Method) resides in its title: activation is regarded as a process aimed at achieving and maintaining a high state of personal and group activity. Cognitive and emotional engagement is central to the teaching and learning process. Enhanced motivation, interest and personal development are key elements of the psychological basis of the Method. The main objectives are promoting creative thinking, speaking, listening and reading skills, enhancing vocabulary, using appropriate grammar constructions in oral and written speech. All the skills and language systems are integrated. Abundant language input, use of lexical chunks, consideration of every aspect of the learning environment as well as of the affective filter and students’ positive emotional state are key aspects of the Method. The Method is applicable in different learning and teaching contexts. The key ideas and principles of the Method of Activation constitute a system of language teaching.Keywords: activation; communicative approach; creative thinking; lexical approach; motivation; roleplay; teamwork.
