Аннотация:Abstract—The issue of cultivating fewer waterretaining plants on soils with a stratified texture upon a sharp
decrease in irrigation norms is examined based on the case of a test plot in the Southern PreAral Sea region.
For layered soils, it is very important that the location of drainage and irrigating canals is coordinated with the
direction of the groundwater flow by the upper waterbed, which is determined by the lithological structure of
the root inhabited stratum
