Аннотация:Discrepancy of objective parameters of beauty (calculation of proportionality)and subject values has been demonstrated. This proves that a person’s features do not completely determine the perception of a person as attractive or unattractive. However, taken separately physiognomic aspect does not explain unequivocally the concept of attraction either. Emotional expression and attractiveness also differ depending on the individual’s subjective preference. Emotional expression influences how a person estimates attractiveness. The specified hypothesis is checked with the analysis of brain structure activity during face perception. The analysis of dynamics of structures activity has shown significant distinction of the series “attractiveness” from the series “emotion” on early latency (0-50 ms) which is interpreted as a primary estimation of probable danger, and also on late latency (300-500 ms), that is interpreted, as a secondary cognitive estimation. The data allows us to consider attractiveness as an integrated combined category of face perception, including both motional and cognitive aspects.
