Аннотация:The oxidatively induced dehydrodimerization of the manganese vinylidene complex (η5-C5H5)(CO)2Mn=C=C(H)Ph (I) into the bis-vinylidene compound (η5-C5H5)(CO)2Mn=C=C(Ph)-C(Ph)=C=Mn(CO)2(η5-C5H5) (II) proceeds via initial Cβ-H bond homolysis in (I+•) and is thought to involve the formally 16-electron mononuclear -phenylethynyl cation [(η5-C5H5)(CO)2Mn-CCPh]+ (III) and the bis-carbyne dication [(η5-C5H5)(CO)2MnC-C(Ph)=C(Ph)-CMn(CO)2(η5-C5H5)]2+ (II2+) as the key sequential intermediates, the latter having been identified by IR spectrum and CV data. The reduction of II2+ with (C6H6)2Cr gave eventually II with the yield of 80%. The other procedure to prepare II from I consists in a treatment of I/NEt3 mixture with (C5H5)2FeBF4 and is preferable from the preparative point of view. The interaction of I with Ph3CPF6 yields the trityl(phenyl)vinylidene complex (η5-C5H5)(CO)2Mn=C=C(CPh3)Ph (IV) as a result of electrophilic attack of trityl-cation on C-atom followed by proton elimination. The structure of IV was established by X-Ray analysis.
