Аннотация:The paper considers the process of friction of carbon-carbon-fiber composite materials (C/C-fibercomposite) and investigates the formation of a film of wear products (third body) on the friction surface. Thefriction and wear tests of the composites are carried out in the temperature and pressure range typical for theoperation of aircraft-braking systems and other highly loaded friction units. The friction surface of the materialand the third body are investigated by scanning electron microscopy, scanning probe microscopy, andRaman spectroscopy. The influence of the presence of a third-body film and its thickness on the coefficientof friction and the intensity of material wear are estimated.
