Аннотация:UV radiation of sunlight induces in cell DNA photochemical reactions, which may lead to the development of series biological responses to arising lesions. The review considers data contained in recent publications, particularly regarding oxidative reactions in DNA that are initiated by ROS and radicals generated by endogenous photosensitizers such as pterins, riboflavin and protoporphyrin IX. The role of specific UV-induced DNA photoproducts in genotoxic processes is discussed.
