Аннотация:Many binary iodides and bromides are known as promising light harvesters or photoluminescent materials because of an advantageous combination of various optical properties with rather high mobility of charge carriers and high symmetry lattice. The current manuscript demonstrated the analysis of polycrystalline powders and thick films of two complex copper cesium halides, namely, CsCu₂Br₃ and CsCu₂I₃ The powder materials were synthesized by ampoule solid-phase sintering method. The films were obtained by physical vapor deposition using single-phase polycrystalline powders as sources. Regular glass and quartz were applied as a target. X-ray diffraction was applied for phase analysis and confirmed the formation of single-phase materials which corresponded well to theoretical compositions. The microstructure is presented by 10-200 nm crystallites. The obtained thick films of CsCu₂Br₃ and CsCu₂I₃ compounds could be applied for modern scintillation devices.
