Аннотация:The Middle East, the Eurasia’s southern underbelly, is a region where polycentric organization has become a reality of international relations. There are several powers (Turkey, Iran, Israel, Saudi Arabia) actively struggling for dominance over an area mired in de-modernization processes on the way to rapidly lose its state-centered shape. As compared to Europe or Pacific Asia, transregional processes in the Southern Eurasia are to a greater extent driven by transnational threats (like international terrorism of illegal migration flows) rather than by integration projects.
