Аннотация:The cell walls of two strains of Promicromonospora citrea, VKM Aс-665T and VKM Ac-1028, from the phylum Actinobacteria (A4α peptidoglycan type, lack aerial mycelium) were found to include non-phosphorylated anionic glycopolymers. They bear pyruvic acid acetals (of R-configuration), which define or enhance their negative charge. The cell wall of P. citrea Aс-665T contains two glycopolymers of the sort, including pyruvylated galactan and Kdn-teichulosonic acid. The cell wall of P. citrea Aс-1028 contains a pyruvylated teichuronic acid. These glycopolymer structures are reported for the first time in nature. They expand the notion on the diversity of the organic world and biosynthetic potential of microorganisms.
