Currently the Russian North Indigenous is more and more politicizing inspired by: 1) Economic activity of large Russian energy companies lead to destruction of indigenous people habitat; 2) Russian oil/gas corporations is involved in human rights violation in Polar; 3) Growing pressure from Moscow to indigenous people organizations and NGOs as well as growing pressure of Russian nationalism whole. In this project I will study another quality of aboriginal resistance movement - to better understanding of indigenous community-based protest mobilization from "below" as a sort of civic activity.
